The box also states that this is a 2005 MX-5, but that is because Japan doesn't play the "release date" games that we do in the USA. This car was released in 2005 in both the US and Japan, but Japan calls it a 2005 due to the release date. In the USA, we called it a 2006. The 2007, 2008 2009 and 2010 are virtually the same as well.
