It was America's Bicentennial and the Gas Man Tom Sneva put this beautiful red, white and blue McLaren on the front row at the Indy 500. Penske Racing was counting on their McLarens and Sneva and teammate Mario Andretti were willing to deliver. But for the third time in four years, Mother Nature had other plans. At lap 102, the race was halted due to rain, never to restart. Only 255 miles or 102 laps were completed, making it the shortest Indy 500 in history. A Penske victory would have to wait.
Now, Penske Racing, McLaren Racing, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum have authorized Carousel 1 to offer you this beautiful model of Snevas McLaren, endorsed by Tom Sneva.
