1966 A. J. Foyt #2 Sheraton Thompson Lotus 1:18 diecast by Carousel 1

Absolutely unbelievable detail on this 1966 Indianapolis 500 car. Made by Carousel 1, it is 10" long and is one of the best quality diecasts EVER MADE! You won't be disappointed.

The 1966 Indy 500 race was described as the “most fantastic, confused and incredible 500” by The Indianapolis Star. Two-time winner AJ Foyt was back after a Pole Day crash and started in twenty-sixth place. Before the leaders had completed the first turn of the first lap, Billy Foster’s car struck the rear of Gordon Johncock’s car and triggered a 16-car crash. Eleven cars were eliminated, including AJ Foyt’s. Amazingly Foyt was the only one injured when he suffered a cut finger and bruised knee from climbing out of his car and scaling a high wire fence to get to the stands. Only 7 cars finished, the fewest ever, and even Graham Hill’s win (the first rookie win since 1927) was disputed. If you're a Foyt fan, then this Sheraton-Thompson Lotus is a must-have. It is the fifth in the Carousel 1 Lotus series and a beautifully crafted model. We invite you to examine and see that this Carousel 1 model is almost as realistic as the real Lotus racer.
